Semi lustrous light around to tan colored balls of crystallized prehnite measuring to 4.5 cm across set on matrix with sparkling micro crystals of specular metallic hematite. Micro quartz is scattered throughout. In good condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Jan Erik Larsen.

Located within the Middle Atlas region of Morocco, the Boulemane area features a varied geological environment dominated by Mesozoic sedimentary formations, basaltic volcanic rocks, and associated hydrothermal vein systems. In these geological settings, low-temperature hydrothermal fluids altered the host rocks, filling fractures, cavities, and amygdules with prehnite along with secondary minerals such as quartz, epidote, and zeolites. Local mining and mineral collecting in the region have uncovered notable specimens of prehnite, which commonly forms light green, pale yellow, or translucent botryoidal, spherical, and fan-like crystal aggregates. These attractive formations are actively sought by artisanal miners and prized by international collectors for their unique habits and aesthetic appeal.
