Fluorite with Quartz
specimen number:
2341069
location:
Sidi Ayed, Boulemane Caidat, Boulemane Cercle, Fes-Meknes, Morocco
description: Sidi Ayed in the Boulemane region of Morocco features complex geological formations characterized by vein systems and carbonate host rocks that cut through the local terrain. The mining and collecting history of this area centers primarily on artisanal and small-scale operations targeting open cuts and mineralized veins rather than large industrial mines. Collectors and local miners have historically extracted notable mineral specimens, particularly distinctive varieties of fluorite and aragonite, with some material occasionally sharing historical market links or confusion with nearby classic Moroccan mining districts like Aouli.
Beautiful golden yellow semi lustrous translucent cubic crystals of fluorite to 1.3 cm on edge aesthetic across the top of a colorless sparkling crystallized quartz matrix. This is in excellent condition. The color contrast makes this very attractive. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Jan Erik Larsen.
