A shallow open pocket measuring 3.5 x 2.0 cm across in the center of this matrix is lined with glistening brilliant bright blue micro crystals of linarite. In great condition. Collected in December, 1981. The specimen comes with a previous collection label from Ray DeMark.

Located in the Aravaipa Mining District of Graham County, Arizona, the Grand Reef Mine sits along a prominent, nearly vertical sheet of silicified breccia and fault zones hosted in volcanic and metamorphic rocks. Discovered in 1890 and developed extensively during the early and mid twentieth century, the underground mine became a significant producer of lead, silver, and copper, alongside notable quantities of zinc and rare secondary minerals.
