description: The Ke Ping region (Keping County) in Aksu, Xinjiang, China, is situated along the northwestern margin of the Tarim Basin and features a geological history spanning extensive Paleozoic sedimentary evolution. The area is structurally characterized by the Kepingtage tectonic uplift, exposing a well-preserved stratigraphic sequence of marine carbonates, clastic rocks, and prominent red-bed formations shaped by prolonged tectonic compression, faulting, and surface wind erosion. Recent finds here have produced wonderful specimens of fluorite with dolomite.
A great combination piece with a grouping of glassy gemmy purple crystals of fluorite to 4.0 cm on edge set at the top of this thin matrix that is coated with white dolomite. The color contrast is fantastic. The piece is in outstanding condition.
