Fluorite
specimen number:
2063719
location:
Xianghuapu Mine, Xianghualing ore field, Linwu Co., Chenzhou, Hunan, China
description: The Xianghuapu Mine is part of the complex Xianghualing polymetallic ore field in Linwu County, Hunan Province, China, a region characterized by extensive skarn and hydrothermal replacement deposits formed through intense granitic magmatic activity. Historically operated for tin and associated metals, the mining district has gained major recognition among mineral collectors for producing world-class specimens. Fluorite from this mine is particularly celebrated for forming glassy, highly transparent crystals that frequently display vivid green hues, sharp cubic or modified octahedral habits, and intricate internal zoning or phantom growth patterns.
Lustrous green octahedral mostly gemmy crystals of fluorite measuring to 3.0 cm in size and aesthetically arranged across the top of matrix. Cluster is basically coming off of the matrix and is crystallized completely all around. In very good condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark and dates to the latter part of the 1990s.
Size: 8.0 x 5.0 x 3.0 cm (small-cabinet)
