Many lustrous bright orange slightly translucent pseudo-octahedral crystals of scheelite measuring to 2.0 cm in size set across the top of a muscovite crystal matrix. The quality is very good, in excellent condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.

Located in the high alpine region of Sichuan Province, the Mount Little Xuebaoding deposit in Pingwu County features complex quartz-mica and quartz-feldspar-mica veins formed through granitic intrusions into metamorphic host rocks like marble and schist. Commercial mining and dedicated specimen collecting began accelerating around the mid-to-late 1990s, turning the area into a world-famous locality renowned for yielding exceptional, museum-quality mineral specimens such as large euhedral orange scheelite crystals, gemmy blue tabular beryl crystals, the rare mineral kesterite, etc.
