Numerous sharp semi lustrous crystals of cassiterite, the largest measuring to 3.5 cm in size in a cluster with minor quartz and muscovite. In good condition with just slight and tiny minimal micro-damage present. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark. This is in early one for this locality, Ray acquired this via trade from the Peking Geological Museum in May, 1981.

Located in the high alpine region of Sichuan Province, the Mount Little Xuebaoding deposit in Pingwu County features complex quartz-mica and quartz-feldspar-mica veins formed through granitic intrusions into metamorphic host rocks like marble and schist. Commercial mining and dedicated specimen collecting began accelerating around the mid-to-late 1990s, turning the area into a world-famous locality renowned for yielding exceptional, museum-quality mineral specimens such as large euhedral orange scheelite crystals, gemmy blue tabular beryl crystals, the rare mineral kesterite, etc.
