Colorless semi lustrous translucent Japan law twin quartz grouping 2.2 cm across, these exhibiting scepter terminations, coming off matrix. In good condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark, this was collected by Jerry Simmons in 1999.

Situated in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, the San Pedro Mine exploits a contact metasomatic skarn deposit where intrusive porphyry bodies replaced Paleozoic limestone beds, yielding historical production of copper, gold, and silver. Mining activity dates back to the Spanish colonial era and the 19th century, involving underground workings and colorful ownership disputes. Mineralogically, the site is world-renowned among collectors for producing exceptional specimens, most notably exquisite Japan law twin quartz crystals alongside large sulfide formations.
