Neat locality example, this a cluster of glassy gemmy crystals of quartz with very little attached matrix. These are colorless and complete all around, in excellent condition. Previous label comes with the specimen from the collection of Ray DeMark. The specimen was collected by Bob Walstrom in April, 1998. The specimen also comes with his label and signature as shown in the video.

The Bottomley Prospect, also known as Bottomley Properties, is located in the San Jacinto or Arabia mining district area at the north end of the Trinity Range in Pershing County, Nevada. Historical records indicate active prospecting and small-scale operations under ownership such as E. J. Bottomley beginning around 1953, though an exact permanent closure date is not formally documented as it remains a minor past-producer. Geologically, the prospect sits on the tops of two knolls where gray to brown shale and interbedded brown, fine-grained sandstone of Late Triassic age are cut by a series of parallel quartz veins and veinlets. Mineralization primarily features antimony-bearing phases occurring as blebs, small pods, and single crystals within the quartz veins as well as the surrounding host sedimentary strata, accompanied by secondary limonite and local oxide coatings.
