Interesting locality example, this a scepter grouping of quartz crystals. The base of this is a large smoky quartz crystal that is semi lustrous and slightly translucent. Over growing this are gemmy purple crystals of amethyst. Complete all around with very minimal micro-damage present on what is the backside of the piece only. Naturally healed on the base. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark. There is also a label from the Belgian dealer Gilbert Gauthier.

Dasoto is a small rural Greek village located in the Kato Nevrokopi basin within the Drama regional unit of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. Geologically, the area is renowned among collectors for producing exceptional alpine-type cleft occurrences where hydrothermal solutions circulate through metamorphic and igneous host rocks, depositing high-quality quartz varieties. Within these local cavities, mineral growth produces striking purple amethyst and scepter crystals, colored naturally by internal trace impurities and natural irradiation acting upon crystal lattices over long periods of tectonic activity.
