Nice crystallized cluster of cubic pyrite crystals. These show hoppering and are in very good condition. Complete all around with no real points of attachment.

Concepcion del Oro, Zacatecas, Mexico, is a historic mining district established during the Spanish colonial period around the late sixteenth century, specifically opening for systematic extraction over 450 years ago, and while individual mines within the district have opened and closed periodically or transitioned to modern operators, the overall region remains active today. Geologically, the district features Cretaceous-age sedimentary sequences, primarily thick-bedded limestones and calcareous shales interbedded with sandstones, which have been heavily folded into anticlines and synclines. These sedimentary units are intruded by younger granodiorite porphyry bodies, creating prominent skarn-replacement and porphyry-style mineral deposits characterized by high-grade mantos, breccia chimneys, and extensive disseminated mineralization.
