Beautiful lustrous translucent pink crystals of calcite measuring to 1.3 cm in size very aesthetic and rich up on a amount of matrix. Crystallized all around and in excellent condition. The color is attributed to the presence of manganese within the calcite crystal structure. These beautiful examples are old Mexican classics and are rarely seen available in good specimens on the market today.

The Aranzazu Mine, situated in the historic Concepcion del Oro district of Zacatecas, Mexico, is a polymetallic deposit hosted within a Mesozoic sedimentary sequence intruded by a Tertiary intrusive complex, featuring skarn-related mineralization formed by hydrothermal replacement processes. Mining in this region dates back nearly 500 years to colonial times when Spanish prospectors first exploited its rich surface outcrops, while modern industrial scale operations at Aranzazu have evolved through several phases of underground and open pit extraction targeting copper, gold, and silver.
