Mimetite
specimen number:
9093000
location:
Kabwe Mine, Central Province, Zambia
description:
Beautiful yellow lustrous crystals of mimetite measuring to 1.0 cm in length across the top of a stalactitic goethite matrix. This is in super condition all around. The specimen comes with an antique label giving the locality as Australia. We have offered this piece in the past as Australian, but many familiar with the locality doubt that this comes from Australia. I think that the original owner or maker of the label intended Broken Hill in Zambia instead. The label still will be provided with the specimen. Regardless, this antique specimen is superb.
