Hemimorphite
specimen number:
8101103
location:
Granby, Newton Co., Missouri, USA
description:
This is a wonderful large cabinet old time piece from this mining district closed around 1910. Sprays of hemimorphite crystals measuring to 2.0 cm across are scattered richly across the top of this matrix. This is in good condition. This is ex University of Arizona collection. During the lifetime of this mining district, material such as this went straight to the smelter as ore, so such a large example from this locality is rarely seen available today.
Size: 20.0 x 18.0 x 5.0 cm (large-cabinet)
