Fluorite with Dolomite
specimen number:
9507098
location:
Ke Ping, Akesu, Xinjiang, China
description: The Ke Ping region (Keping County) in Aksu, Xinjiang, China, is situated along the northwestern margin of the Tarim Basin and features a geological history spanning extensive Paleozoic sedimentary evolution. The area is structurally characterized by the Kepingtage tectonic uplift, exposing a well-preserved stratigraphic sequence of marine carbonates, clastic rocks, and prominent red-bed formations shaped by prolonged tectonic compression, faulting, and surface wind erosion. Recent finds here have produced wonderful specimens of fluorite with dolomite.
Attractive glassy gemmy deep purple lustrous crystals of fluorite to 3.0 cm on edge set up on matrix this partially scattered with white crystals of dolomite. In excellent condition.
