description: The Ke Ping region (Keping County) in Aksu, Xinjiang, China, is situated along the northwestern margin of the Tarim Basin and features a geological history spanning extensive Paleozoic sedimentary evolution. The area is structurally characterized by the Kepingtage tectonic uplift, exposing a well-preserved stratigraphic sequence of marine carbonates, clastic rocks, and prominent red-bed formations shaped by prolonged tectonic compression, faulting, and surface wind erosion. Recent finds here have produced wonderful specimens of fluorite with dolomite.
Glassy gemmy color zoned purple crystals of fluorite measuring to 2.2 cm on edge set aesthetically up on matrix and associated with white rhombohedral dolomite crystals. In perfect condition, great color contrast.
