Fluorite with Calcite, Dolomite
specimen number:
8611392
location:
Corydon Crushed Stone Co. quarry, Harrison Co., Indiana, USA
description:
A neat specimen from this popular southern Indiana locality. Fluorite from this locality, while known, is really uncommon. This is an excellent example with gemmy purple color zoned crystals to 1.0 cm on edge across a crystalline calcite matrix with minor dolomite. The fluorite crystals are in excellent condition. The calcite is only partially crystallized and cleaved on the backside. Neat Indiana specimen.
Size: 9.0 x 5.0 x 3.5 cm (small-cabinet)
