Fluorite
specimen number:
9507134
location:
Jiang Jun Gou, Huairou, Beijing, China
description: Jiang Jun Gou, located in the Huairou District of Beijing, China, is a mining locality with a complex history marked by forced labor operations during World War II before being abandoned for decades, followed by renewed localized access by mineral collectors in recent years. Geologically, the site is situated within a regional framework characterized by complex metamorphic and sedimentary formations typical of the northern China craton evolution, hosting hydrothermal pocket deposits that yield notable specimens of cubic fluorite.
Attractive mostly gemmy lustrous golden yellow cubic crystals of fluorite measuring to 3.0 cm on edge across the top of a thin matrix. In good condition with very minimal micro-cleaving present, the color is great.
