A beautiful combination piece with glassy large gemmy pale green to colorless crystals of fluorapophyllite forming a cluster with attractive crystals of stilbite. No points of attachment and complete all around, this is in excellent condition. From the 1990s, the specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.

Jalgaon, located in the northern region of Maharashtra, India, has a history rooted in ancient trade routes, agrarian growth, and regional administrative evolution under various empires including the Yadavas, Mughals, and Marathas. Geologically, the area rests squarely within the Deccan Traps, a massive continental flood basalt province formed by extensive volcanic activity millions of years ago. As successive layers of lava cooled and solidified, gas cavities and vesicles formed within the basalt rock matrix. Over long periods, mineral-rich hydrothermal and groundwater solutions percolated through these empty spaces, depositing secondary minerals. This unique environment makes Jalgaon world-renowned among mineralogists and collectors for producing exceptional specimens of zeolites and related silicate minerals, most notably stunning crystal formations of stilbite, heulandite, scolecite, and apophyllite.
