A beautiful grouping of large thick glassy slightly translucent fluorapatite crystals with little attached matrix. This is in excellent condition. The color on this is outstanding making the specimen a very attractive example for the species.

The Mawi pegmatite is a famous rare-element deposit located within the Nilaw-Kolum pegmatite field of Nuristan, Afghanistan. Situated in a rugged mountain valley, this geological formation is globally renowned among mineral collectors and museums for producing exceptional, high quality gem crystals, most notably large and brilliantly colored varieties of spodumene and tourmaline. The pegmatite veins cut through regional crystalline rocks, creating pocket zones that have yielded world class mineral specimens prized for their transparency, distinct color zoning, and perfect crystal form.
