An attractive grouping of glassy thick blue partly gemmy Celestine crystals with little attached matrix. Complete all around. This is in good condition with just slight tiny minimal micro-damage present. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark. He collected the specimen on July 25, 1999.

The geology of the Maybee Quarry in Monroe County, Michigan, features Paleozoic sedimentary bedrock formed within ancient shallow marine environments, consisting primarily of Silurian and Devonian limestone and dolomite layers that contain vugs and cavities filled with notable mineral specimens like celestite and native sulfur. Commercial mining and quarrying operations began in the area during the late 19th century to extract stone resources, and the site has operated under various names over the decades—including the Woolmith and Stoneco quarries—serving as a major regional producer of crushed limestone, sand, and gravel for construction and industrial uses.
