Carrollite
specimen number:
8282173
location:
Kamoya South II Mine, Kambove, Haut-Katanga, DR Congo
description:
An incredibly good example for the species with a large sharp bright lustrous metallic crystal of carrollite 5.5 cm across on a calcite matrix. The piece is been stabilized where the crystal meets the matrix. Without this stabilization, it is doubtful that the crystal would remain attached to the matrix. As it is, this is very solid and is in outstanding condition. This is about as good as it gets for the species.
Size: 10.0 x 9.0 x 3.0 cm (cabinet)
