Calcite
specimen number:
1213001
location:
Sweetwater mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA
description: An impressive very large grouping of almost black highly lustrous scalenohedral calcite crystals. This is in remarkable condition with only one crystal slightly cleaved on the termination, this pointed out in the video. I would guess that 98% of the specimens from this large pocket were recovered damaged. Despite the damage, and in some cases a lot of damage, the specimens were bringing very high prices. This one is as perfect as they get, and the quality is top. The dark color is due to heavy inclusions of chalcopyrite. A remarkable large museum sized example from this famous find. We would ship this specimen safely and securely on a pallet at no extra cost to the purchaser.
Size: 30.0 x 25.0 x 25.0 cm (large-cabinet)
