Beryl var. Aquamarine with Topaz, Quartz
specimen number:
1503963
location:
Siberia, Russia
description: Very neat gem crystal specimen showing gem blue prismatic crystals of aquamarine to 3.5 cm in length upon a matrix coated by small colorless glassy topaz crystals to 1.0 cm. Minor quartz present as well. At first this looked a little suspicious to me, but I have soaked this in acetone for days and I'm convinced the piece is natural. Previous data card notes only a locality as Siberia, this most likely from the gem fields of Adun Chilon. In very good condition and shows nicely all around. This was entered into the previous collector's collection before 1958. Measures 7.0 x 6.0 x 2.0 cm. Shipping weight: 0.22 pounds. Ex Renaud Vochten collection.
Size: 7.0 x 6.0 x 2.0 cm (small-cabinet)
Collection: Renaud Vochten
