An attractive and choice grouping of very pale blue glassy and mostly gemmy thick tabular crystals of beryl, the prominent crystal measuring 4.3 x 3.6 x 2.1 cm in size. This crystals stands straight up from a cluster with little attached muscovite. It is reamed by many smaller beryl crystals. Crystallized completely all around and in great condition. From the late 1990s. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.

Located in the high alpine region of Sichuan Province, the Mount Little Xuebaoding deposit in Pingwu County features complex quartz-mica and quartz-feldspar-mica veins formed through granitic intrusions into metamorphic host rocks like marble and schist. Commercial mining and dedicated specimen collecting began accelerating around the mid-to-late 1990s, turning the area into a world-famous locality renowned for yielding exceptional, museum-quality mineral specimens such as large euhedral orange scheelite crystals, gemmy blue tabular beryl crystals, the rare mineral kesterite, etc.
