The Biermann Quarries, located in the Fairfield County area of Connecticut, consist of old pegmatite excavations historically worked for industrial minerals such as feldspar and muscovite. Geologically, the site features coarse-grained intrusive rock formations embedded within the regional metamorphic terrain, yielding notable specimens of black tourmaline, beryl, and related secondary mineral pseudomorphs within its extensive waste dumps.
