Large colorless semi lustrous blocky crystals of barite measuring to 3.0 cm in size in a cluster without matrix. Crystallized completely all around with no points of attachment. This is in excellent condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.

The Rosebud Mine in Pershing County, Nevada, is a volcanic-hosted, low-sulfidation epithermal deposit situated within faulted and altered Tertiary volcanic rocks overlying older metasedimentary basement rocks. Following initial prospecting and small-scale activities starting around 1906, modern exploration during the late 1980s and 1990s led to underground mining operations that ran from 1997 through 2000, successfully recovering substantial quantities of precious metals.
