Barite
specimen number:
1392122
location:
Montreal mine, Iron Co., Wisconsin, USA
description:
A fine cluster of lustrous bladed translucent barite crystals with minor hematite matrix. Very minimal micro-cleaving is present, I think that the specimen is in very good condition. Exceptional large crystals for the species from this locality closed in 1963. To me this is somewhat reminiscent of specimens from Frizington in England.
Size: 12.0 x 8.0 x 7.0 cm (cabinet)
