Azurite
specimen number:
1405001
location:
Nchanga Mine, Chingola, Chingola District, Copperbelt Province, Zambia
description: Truly outstanding group of large twinned brilliant blue bladed crystals of azurite measuring 16.0 x 11.0 x 8.5 cm in size. This gives the appearance of two spherical shaped clusters attached, the piece sits perfectly by itself for display and is an outstanding condition. The azurite crystal show twinning, which is quite rare for the species. Collected in 1979 from this now closed copper mine, this was in my opinion one of the finer examples that we saw. Would look great in any collection.
Size: 16.0 x 11.0 x 8.5 cm (large-cabinet)
