description: Washington Pass is a scenic mountain pass located in the Cascade Mountains of Okanogan County, Washington, USA, crossed by North Cascades Highway 20 within the Golden Horn Batholith. This remote and rugged alpine area is famous among mineral collectors as the type locality for zektzerite, an extremely rare cyclosilicate mineral. Zektzerite typically forms small, translucent, pale pink to colorless pseudohexagonal crystals inside gas cavities within the regional alkaline granite.
A light pink lustrous blocky crystal of this rare mineral 0.4 cm in height standing up free from matrix and in excellent condition.
