Thin platy attractive gemmy crystals of wulfenite measuring to 2.0 cm in size set up on a thin shell like crystallized quartz matrix. Some of this quartz appears to be forming replacements after now gone wulfenite crystals. In great condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark. This was collected by Mike Potts from the underground workings.

The Erupcion Mine, located in the Los Lamentos mountains of Chihuahua, Mexico, was discovered and opened around 1920, with primary commercial operations winding down by the late 20th century though intermittent specimen recovery occurred later. Geologically, the mine consists of replacement deposits formed within Cretaceous limestone, where hydrothermal activity and subsequent oxidation led to rich secondary mineral zones. It is globally famous for producing world-class wulfenite specimens, characterized by thick, tabular, highly lustrous crystals with vibrant orange, yellow, and brown hues.
