Wulfenite
specimen number:
3651774
location:
Hilltop mine, Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
description:
Thin platy caramel colored crystals of wulfenite to 1.5 cm in size across the front of this matrix. In good condition with minimal micro-chipping present as seen and to be expected. Previous label notes that the specimen was acquired at the Argentum auction in 1991. Previous label from that auction comes with the specimen. When I first saw this piece I suspected that perhaps it was really from New Mexico. After speaking with several people in Arizona though, they assure me that pieces like this did come out of Hilltop and that the best thing to do is to go with the previous labels. Unusual and quite neat.
