Reddish orange crystals of wulfenite averaging 0.3 cm in size across the top of matrix. Fairly richly crystallized, in good condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.

The Melissa Mine, located in the historic Silver District of La Paz County, Arizona, dates back to the late 19th century when regional prospecting for precious metals intensified. Geologically, the site is situated within the Basin and Range province, where faulting and extensive fracturing cutting across Tertiary volcanic and host rocks created pathways for mineral-bearing hydrothermal solutions. These processes formed complex vein and fault-zone deposits containing notable concentrations of silver, lead, and associated rare secondary minerals.
