Attractive thin platy gemmy crystals of orange wulfenite to 0.6 cm in size scattered across the top of matrix with many needlelike crystals of colorless hemimorphite. Collected in 1995. In good condition with very minimal micro-damage present. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.

The 79 Mine, located in the Dripping Spring Mountains of Gila County, Arizona, was discovered in 1879 and saw primary commercial metal production periods between 1920 and 1962, followed by decades of intermittent underground exploration and famous mineral specimen recovery by collectors. Geologically, the deposit sits within the Banner Mining District, featuring high-angle fault systems where replacement orebodies and extensive supergene oxidation developed extensively along fractured contacts between shales, limestones, and igneous porphyry dikes.
