Thomsonite with Chabazite, Stilbite
specimen number:
2062752
location:
Goble Quarry, Goble, Columbia Co., Oregon, USA
description: The Goble Quarry, situated near Goble in Columbia County, Oregon, is geologically rooted in the regional volcanic rock formations and extensive basalt flows characteristic of the lower Columbia River region. Over time, the local basaltic and intrusive rock units developed cavities and fractures that later allowed secondary mineral formation, making the area widely recognized by collectors for a diverse array of secondary minerals, particularly various zeolites. Historically, the site has functioned as a commercial rock quarry supplying durable crushed stone and construction aggregates to support infrastructure development throughout northwestern Oregon and southwest Washington.
