The Wuning Mine in Qingjiang, Wuning County, Jiujiang, Jiangxi, China, is an underground hydrothermal deposit where mineral-rich solutions filled regional faults and cavities to form exceptional concentrations of stibnite. Initially developed as an industrial commercial mining operation for antimony, underground extraction during the late 20th century unexpectedly uncovered vugs and pockets containing world-class mineral specimens. These operations brought brilliant, metallic, blade-like stibnite crystal sprays—frequently associated with calcite and baryte—to global attention, transforming the site from a standard metal mine into a legendary locality renowned for museum-caliber mineral preservation.
