location:
Jairo claim, Resplendor, Minas Gerais, Brazil
description: The Jairo claim near Resplendor in Minas Gerais, Brazil, is situated within the prolific Eastern Brazilian Pegmatite Province, a region renowned for complex granitic pegmatites intruding into regional metamorphic schist and gneiss. During the 1980s, artisanal and local mining operations at this site successfully targeted pocket zones within these coarse-grained intrusive bodies, yielding highly prized, gem-quality pink crystal specimens of spodumene, the variety often called kunzite.
A loose complete floater gem pink crystal of spodumene, this the variety often called kunzite. The crystal is perfect all around. Collected in the 1980s, the quality is excellent.
