specimen number:
4521130
location:
Force Crag mine, Coledale, Cumbria, England, UK
description:
Bright lustrous black crystals of sphalerite measuring to 1.5 cm in size quite rich across the front of this crystallized quartz matrix with siderite. Very minimal damage present, this mainly confined to the left edge of the matrix. Overall I think the specimen in really good condition. Quite choice for the species from this locality. The specimen comes with a number of previous labels that are shown at the end of the video. The specimen was collected by Michael Sutcliffe in the mid 1980s from the north side of the mine, 1200 manway sub level from the O level.
