Brilliant gemmy sparkling deep red crystals of sphalerite measuring to 0.3 cm in size across the front of this crystallized quartz matrix. In very good condition, this is quite pretty. This material used to be known as Ruby Zinc in this old mining district. The specimen dates to the 1960s.
