Smithsonite with Aurichalcite
specimen number:
3521073
location:
Kelly mine, Socorro Co., New Mexico, USA
description:
The front side of this matrix is covered with velvety blue botryoidal crystallized aurichalcite. Approximately one half of this is in turn covered with chatoyant pearly translucent bluish green crystallized smithsonite. The piece sits up perfectly by itself or display. I can only find very minimal chipping along one of the edges, I think the piece in very good condition.
