location:
Philadelphia Mine, Rush, Marion Co., Arkansas, USA
description: Saddle shaped crystals of dolomite to 1.5 cm in size are covered and partly replaced by very attractive yellow crystallize smithsonite. These completely cover the top and back of this 10.5 x 6.0 x 6.0 cm matrix. Very minimal chipping present, an area of contacting is seen on the backside. Sits perfectly by itself for display, an excellent hand specimen for this old locality. Known locally as Turkey Fat smithsonite, the yellow color likely due to cadmium. Classic Arkansas material collected in the 1970s. Shipping weight: 0.7 pounds.
