Smithsonite
specimen number:
2541019
location:
Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto, Namibia
description: In exceptional gorgeous example for the species with highly translucent semi lustrous deep pink large well-formed crystals of smithsonite to 3.0 cm in size scattered across the front of a 15.0 x 7.0 x 4.0 cm matrix. In exceptional condition, I really like this one with the crystals spread out and so well defined, yet exceptionally large for the species. The beautiful color doesn't hurt as well. This sits perfectly by itself or display, however it does come with a custom acrylic display base. The specimen is figured in the second edition Namibia book on page 557. Ex Marshall Sussman collection.
Size: 15.0 x 7.0 x 4.0 cm (large-cabinet)
