Attractive yellow botryoidal crystallized smithsonite covering most all sides of this matrix. In super condition. At one time the specimen was part of the collection of famed Mexican collector Dr. Miguel Romero and comes with his label.

The San Antonio Mine is located in the historic Santa Eulalia mining district within Aquiles Serdan, Chihuahua, Mexico. Geologically, the deposit is situated within the East Field of the district, where mineralization is hosted primarily in Cretaceous limestone sequences cut by Tertiary rhyolitic dikes and intrusive rocks that formed elongated chimneys, mantos, and replacement bodies containing sulfide ores. Mining in the broader Santa Eulalia region began following Spanish discovery in the late 16th century, with intense commercial exploitation ramping up significantly in the 18th century and continuing through modern industrial operations to extract valuable metal resources including silver, lead, and zinc.
