description: Bou Beker is a prominent mining locality situated within the Touissit-Bou Beker district of the Jerada Province in the Oriental region of northeastern Morocco. Historically celebrated for its extensive industrial extraction operations, this area forms part of a major regional ore deposit located near the Algerian border. It is globally renowned among mineral collectors and geologists for producing exceptional specimens of various secondary carbonate and oxidation minerals.
This is a very attractive specimen showing sparkling groupings of crystallized gypsum to 0.9 cm in diameter, these a light blue in color due to inclusions throughout of rosasite. Scattered across a matrix of crystallized dolomite, this is in terrific condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Jan Erik Larsen.
