Quartz var. Amethyst on Galena
specimen number:
8632175
location:
Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico
description:
Really neat 1980s era combination piece with gemmy purple crystals of amethyst to 3.0 cm in height coming off a bed of bright lustrous metallic crystals of galena. Typical of these there is minimal micro-chipping present, this particular specimen still in very good condition. I remember when these came to light in the 1980s, they were on the market quickly and gone just as quickly.
