Quartz (repaired 2x)
specimen number:
2062826
location:
Green Ridge, King Co., Washington, USA
description: Green Ridge in King County, Washington, is characterized geologically by a complex breccia body cutting through the plutonic rock of the Miocene Snoqualmie Batholith. The area has a history defined by private mining claims rather than commercial ore extraction, with collecting largely restricted. It is globally renowned among mineral enthusiasts for its exceptional quartz specimens. Voids within the breccia zone allowed the growth of high quality, transparent quartz crystals, including distinct scepters, light amethyst variations, rare twin formations, and specimens containing interesting mineral inclusions.
A light purple glassy gem crystal of quartz measuring 3.0 x 2.6 x 2.0 cm in size standing up straight up from matrix. In perfect condition all around. The specimen is said to have been repaired in two places, this is done very well and is difficult to detect with the naked eye. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.
Size: 4.5 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm (miniature)
