location:
Tinejdad, Errachidia, Draa-Tafilalet, Morocco
description: Located in the arid desert landscapes of the Draa-Tafilalet region, the area around Tinejdad and Errachidia features complex sedimentary and geological formations influenced by ancient hydrothermal activity that created rich mineral pockets. While the region has a long history as a historic oasis trading post and traditional mining hub for various ores, local artisanal and commercial mineral collecting has expanded significantly in recent decades to extract exceptional crystal specimens. Among these discoveries, the quartz clusters found near Tinejdad have gained international renown for their striking appearance, featuring vibrant coatings and inclusions of dark red iron oxides that give the crystals their signature deep crimson color.
A grouping of lustrous deep red slightly translucent quartz crystals. This is in good condition. The specimen comes with a label from the collection of Ray DeMark.
