Pyromorphite
specimen number:
8011020
location:
Bunker Hill Mine, Kellogg, Coeur d'Alene District, Shoshone Co., Idaho, USA
description:
Pyromorphite from this locality is generally known amongst collectors to be some of the best available. Real classics since the first find in the early 1980s, every major collection has a good example. The current specimen shown here is quite unusual, showing a fan like grouping of lustrous yellow green crystals 5.0 cm across standing up from a matrix of barrel shaped crystallized pyromorphite to 1.5 cm in length. This sits perfectly for display and is an outstanding condition showing well all around. The piece measures 8.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 cm in size. The fan like grouping is quite unusual and aesthetically pleasing; I'm told that there were only precious few of these found.
Size: 8.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 cm (small-cabinet)
