specimen number:
4141277
location:
Buick mine, Viburnum Trend, Iron Co., Missouri, USA
description:
A superb old time example from the early 1970s. This is a large elongated grouping of pyrite crystals. Known as pyrite bars, this one has a very good luster and is in great condition. There were two major finds of this material, all from the same pocket. The original find was in early 1974, the second find in the late 1990s. Some believe that the strange nature of crystallization is due to twinning.
Size: 16.0 x 5.0 x 4.7 cm (large-cabinet)
