description: Superb cluster of dark red lustrous prismatic terminated proustite crystals measuring 4.5 x 3.0 x 2.5 cm in size overall. Completely crystallized all around. Light chipping is present at the lower right area of the crystal grouping on the front. All of the crystals are well terminated and without damage on the terminations. Excellent example from this historically important mining district. Ex Hubert de Monmenier collection. His collection was bequeathed to the University of Arizona in 2007. Also previous label from the Humboldt University Museum in Berlin. Ref: Lapis 33 (9), 13-39; 58.
